The No. 17 Colorado Buffaloes continue to impress, securing a dominant 49-24 victory over the Utah Utes on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Colorado improves to 8-2, and following No. 6 BYU’s loss to Kansas, the Buffaloes are now tied for the lead in the Big 12 Conference with just two weeks remaining.

Head coach Deion Sanders has completely transformed this football program. The year before Sanders took over, Colorado finished with a dismal 1-11 record. In his first season, the team improved to 4-8, and despite facing criticism and skepticism, the Buffaloes kept their focus and have built something truly special.

This year’s squad has already made Colorado bowl eligible for the first time since 2020, and with a bowl victory, they could end a 20-year drought-Colorado hasn’t won a bowl game since 2004.

But the road ahead remains wide open, and the Buffaloes control their own destiny. If they win their final two games, they’ll earn a spot in the Big 12 Championship and put themselves in a strong position for a College Football Playoff berth.

Following Saturday’s victory, Los Angeles Lakers superstar and friend of Deion Sanders, LeBron James, took to social media to offer some praise for both Colorado and Sanders.

“I don’t hear none of those @CUBuffsFootball @DeionSanders HATERS being up front and loud! They’re in hiding now!” James posted. “Coach Prime said ‘We Coming.’ Well, it’s ‘We Here’ now. Love what’s going on in Boulder.”

On Sunday morning, Coach Prime responded with a simple, yet heartfelt message.

“@KingJames, thank you my brother for the support!” Sanders wrote.

The transformation of this program over the past few years has been nothing short of exponential. While the Buffaloes boast a wealth of talent, led by Heisman frontrunner Travis Hunter and star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, it is Coach Prime who has laid the foundation and instilled a strong sense of culture in Boulder.

He has rejuvenated a football program that was once floundering, breathing new life into a team that had been dead in the water.
