Candace Parker Warns LeBron James’ Wife About Being a ‘Volleyball Mom’
WNBA legend Candace Parker offered Savannah James, wife of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, a playful yet sincere warning about the sacrifices involved in supporting a young volleyball player.
James, navigating her new role as a volleyball mom, took to Instagram to share her weekend experience cheering on Zhuri at a 6 a.m. tournament.
“Back at it, in a new way! 6 am start this beautiful Sunday. Let’s go Zhuri!” Savannah James posted along with a video of Zhuri’s volleyball highlights.
The message resonated with many, including Parker, who has firsthand experience with the sport’s demands.
“Welcome to being a volleyball mom! It’s not for the weak—early starts always,” Parker shared in response to Savannah James’ latest social media post about her daughter Zhuri’s volleyball journey.
Candace Parker, a mother of three, understands the commitment volleyball requires. After all, her eldest daughter, Lailaa Nicole Williams, plays the sport.
Reflecting on her own experience, Parker acknowledged the sacrifices parents make to support their children’s athletic goals, describing volleyball as a “family commitment.”
For Savannah James, balancing the schedules of her three children is a regular challenge. Her sons, Bronny and Bryce, are deeply involved in basketball, while Zhuri’s passion for volleyball adds another layer of complexity.
