Kendrick Perkins Calls Out Nuggets Star To Step Up!
The Denver Nuggets need a team effort to get the job done.
Nikola Jokic is their leader and best player, so they will only go as far as he can lead them.
Then again, it takes a village to find success in the NBA.
That’s why Kendrick Perkins believes it’s time we see more from Jamal Murray.
On ESPN, the former NBA champion criticized Murray for “not doing anything” since the NBA Finals.
He thinks the Nuggets need a better effort from him and Michael Porter Jr., especially with Jokic out.
The Nuggets are 0-2 without Jokic, who’s missed the past couple of games for undisclosed personal reasons.
He’s averaged a triple-double for the season and playing like the best player in the world.
Then again, much of that has also been related to his team’s need for him to go off for them to stand a chance.
Aaron Gordon has struggled with injuries, Murray hasn’t been the player he once was, and Porter Jr. has yet to take a leap despite being one of the most talented pure scorers in the game.
Just two years ago, the Nuggets looked like a team that could legitimately be an NBA championship contender for the next four or five years.
Fast forward to today, and it now seems like their reign at the top will be short-lived.
They don’t look like that kind of team right now, and they might have to make some tough decisions to turn things around.
