Nikola Jokic Had Notable Career Milestone In Loss To Clippers
Nikola Jokic tried his hardest and put up a mighty fight, but it wasn’t enough for the Denver Nuggets to beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night.
Jokic and his Nuggets fell 126-122 to the Clippers in Los Angeles, despite the three-time MVP posting huge numbers.
He scored 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists during Sunday’s game.
According to StatMuse, Jokic is now tied with Magic Johnson in all-time triple-doubles.
Producing triple-doubles is just what Jokic does.
This season, he is averaging 29.6 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game.
If those numbers hold, this will be the first year that Jokic has averaged a triple-double for the whole season.
Jokic is currently leading the league in rebounds and is once again putting up MVP-like numbers.
But does that mean he will win that prize yet again?
Conventional wisdom says no because he earned MVP in three of the last four seasons.
Then again, a lot of people didn’t think he’d pull it off last season, but he did.
At this point, no one should be surprised when Jokic achieves next-level greatness and does what so many people didn’t think possible.
The Nuggets have a 10-8 record right now and have faced some serious challenges so far this year.
Do they still have a chance of reaching the NBA Finals?
That’s a big question mark right now, but it’ll only be possible if Jokic is playing like the historic center he is.
No matter what happens, these numbers from Jokic are astounding, and they prove—again—that there really is no one else like him.
